Steal This: The Best Kids' Stuff for Grown-Ups

We at Foxy know from experience that products made for kids and babies are being coveted by the over-18 crowd. Try some out for yourself and you'll quickly understand why...

  • Sunscreen Why not baby your skin with something that's packed with the good stuff (like SPF) and missing the bad stuff (like harsh chemicals)? Plus, kid/baby sunscreens tend to be fragrance-free or just lightly scented with natural oils rather than heavy perfumes, so they're gentle on skin. We're fans of Sunbrellas Kids' Sunblock SPF 46 by Jason Natural Cosmetics because it goes on dry and has a subtle coconut scent. And, Neutrogena recently launched Pure & Free Baby Sunblock with SPF 60.
  • Baby Snacks Instead of grabbing a calorie-laden cookie, chow down on your kid's favorite low-sugar snacks, like Trader Joe's Honey Nut O's and Gerber Graduates's Yogurt Melts (freeze-dried whipped yogurt drops) and Fruit Strips Real Fruit Bars -- no preservatives or artificial additives, and they're low in sugar. Bingo!
  • Target Lavender Baby Lotion The minute we started slathering this on our toddlers after a bath, we became addicted. The yummy scent is soft and light -- perfect for those who like just a little fragrance with their moisturizer. At under two bucks a bottle, the price is definitely right.
  • Shampoo and Conditioner by Nature's Baby Organics Gentle, and as the name implies, natural are two things your hair will appreciate. Give your luscious locks a break! Plus, the Vanilla-Tangerine scent is hard to resist.
  • Dining Out Here's a nifty tip: try ordering off the kids' menu at restaurants, if there's no age limit. Whether you share with a child or order your own, you'll save up to half the price. The best news is that often times the kid's portions are surprisingly plentiful so you still get a lot of food!
  • Snack Bags Go green by lugging your snacks to the office in reusable children's snack bags. Check out Etsy.com for lots of different cute custom designs at affordable prices, starting at a couple of bucks per bag.
  • Baby Wipes Keep a stash of wipes in the car for wiping down hands after you pump gas, nosh on some greasy takeout, or deal with any other dirty situations that life may throw your way (like soda stains -- the wipes work wonders on those too).
  • Environmentally Safe Water Bottles Those who don't have youngsters may not be familiar with the phrase "BPA-free." BPA stands for Bisphenol A, which is a compound found in plastics that is suspected of being hazardous to humans. Many BPA-free water bottles are brightly colored and seem marketed to kids but they're really wonderful for everyone. Popular brands include: Sigg, Klean, and CamelBak.
  • Barrettes & Hair Ties Depending on your age, you may not feel comfortable sporting a bubblegum pink barrette, but perhaps you can borrow something a bit more toned down from your daughter -- like a black clip or hair band to pull your hair up on a hot summer's day. Goody makes stylish, adult-appropriate and price- friendly versions that can be easily found online or at the local drugstore.
  • Colored Pencils & Crayons, Brighten up your workspace or home office with a glass or ceramic cup filled with an array of rainbow-hued pencils or crayons. Rediscover your inner child and your inner Picasso, all in one... plus it's a much more fun way to doodle or take notes.
